The famous Lata Mangeshkar Chowk—which marks the intersection of Ram Path and Dharm Path—has now emerged as Ayodhya's newest selfie hotspot.

Locals credit Prime Minister Modi's December 30 Ayodhya roadshow, during which he even stopped by Lata Mangeshkar Chowk and obliged photographers, for the abrupt surge in the attraction's popularity.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of UP, took a selfie at Chowk the day before Modi visited the holy city, causing a stir on social media and among the local populace. However, shortly after the clock struck midnight on Sunday night, many young people gathered on the Chowk's circular perimeter to capture the event.

A large crowd from the temple town and some nearby regions gathered at the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk to welcome the New Year on December 31. By 10 p.m. on Sunday, selfie-seekers had begun to pour in, circling the famous landmark to find the ideal angle for a selfie or a photo with the artistic sculpture.

The Lata Mangeshkar Chowk marks the intersection of Ram Path and Dharm Path, both beautifully bedecked with ornamental lamp posts ahead of the consecration ceremony of the upcoming Ram temple in the holy city.

The chowk was built by the Uttar Pradesh government to commemorate the late melody queen on her 93rd birthday. It is situated next to Naya Ghat, and was inaugurated virtually by PM Modi on September 28, 2022.
